LavenTea
Two friends vacationing in England experienced proper tea etiquette and were enchanted by their time spent there. They decided in 2012 to open up their own spot and called it LavenTea. It is a combination of the word lavender and tea. LavenTea offers a chic, modern take on the traditional British tearoom, serving fine loose leaf teas alongside fresh homemade meals and delicious handcrafted treats. The menu boasts afternoon teas, cream teas and cakes alongside hearty stews, soups and sandwiches. We care about your health and the environment. They offer quality and fresh organic teas from around the world to customers. They work directly with tea gardens that are certified organic and visit them to check on the crops, taste teas and select the best. It’s a twist that meets your tea needs.
Sketches
At the time I was still debating on a few different names for the company between: White Tea, LavenTea, and Le Midi. LavenTea was the winner to go forward with developing. I wanted to work with some type of floral aspect and make it elegant and sweet. I could not get basic tea items of my head and I sketched them out. The two below were what I wanted the company to look like. I wanted to add decorative elements under the name because this is a company that is based around classic proper tea time.
Concepts
These are the different design concepts and colors that I worked through considering. Lavender had to be incorporated because the name came from lavender. It was a little difficult deciding between a script or sans serif typeface. It needs a calming presences that appears light.
